It was the perfect wedding day for Freya and Rory! Beautiful spring weather, fabulous church and venue and of course their two adorable rescue dogs joined them! There was lots of love, laughter and smiles all day! Here's their love story and a few highlights of their amazing wedding day!

What’s your love story, how did you meet?

We met on Tinder and our first date was in Kommune, Sheffield (May 2019) We only planned on meeting for a couple of hours to have a meal and got on so well we stayed out all night until 3am.

Rory was very chivalrous on the first date, we walked arm in arm down the street and he got a taxi for me home.

After a couple of dates, and in October of the same year I knew I wanted to marry him. We were just like the same person (only I eat more veg!)

Tell us about the proposal?

Sunset at Curbar Edge with fish and chips each and our greyhounds. This place is a special place for us, it is where Rory asked me to be his girlfriend in August 2019 and where a lot of my family are buried (Curbar church yard).

Why did you choose your Whirlowbrook Hall?

We loved the setting and the grounds. We are a big fan of the outdoors and being in the garden room (which is so bright and airy) felt like part of the outside came inside! The venue is dog friendly and we knew we wanted our boys with us on the day. We also liked that it would only be our wedding on during that day. The garden room is a good size but not too big so my dad didn’t feel overwhelmed for his speech (he has trouble with his voice).

What’s the style of your wedding?

Rustic meets classic with a hint of blush.

Is there anything special at your wedding that you’ve included and why?

We have included a memory table to mark our close relatives who have passed. All of our table names are named after costal places we have visited as a couple, places where we have had precious memories. We have also got our greyhounds and my parents beagles coming to the venue in their wedding attire.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?

The beginning of forever and cementing our love and commitment to one another. I am looking forward to the speeches and the day as a whole. Rory says he is most looking forward to watching me walk down the isle (this is the bit I am most nervous about).

Any future advice for Brides/Grooms planning their day?

Don’t think too hard and don’t be a people pleaser. Remember that although this day will be wonderful and very exciting, don’t be sad when it’s over, focus all of the positive energy of the day into your new life together as a married couple!

Why did you chose us to capture your day?

Sharon has won awards for her photography, we had seen previous work and thought it was lovely. Extra bonus points that Sharon is a radiographer by background as it's my profession so we instantly had a connection!! After meeting Sharon for the pre-wedding shoot, she instantly put us at ease and her smile and enthusiasm were infectious.
