Steph and Lewis's summer wedding in Yorkshire

What’s your love story, how did you meet?

We initially met at secondary school as friends. We went our separate ways through higher education but eventually the stars aligned and we crossed paths again 7 years later. We began attending the local pub quiz through mutual friends and just hit it off, we have been inseparable ever since!

How did you get engaged/proposal?

We got engaged in Santorini in October 2021. After secretly searching all day for the perfect spot, Lewis found it on our walk back and suggested we return to watch sunset that evening. He proposed overlooking the Three Bells of Thira Church with the beautiful backdrop of the Caldera as the sun set.

Why did you choose your venue?

The Church is stunning and has special significance within the family. Wentworth itself is a place we spend a lot of our spare time. We’d known about Whitley and had it marked out for a long time. It’s a beautiful venue with lots of character and the location for us is perfect.

What’s the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?

Rustic, natural elements, lots of greenery and wildflowers.

Is there anything special at your wedding that you’ve included and why?

Whilst signing the registers we asked the Organist to play Bohemian Rhapsody, a break from tradition and a nice surprise for our guests. We’ve had some smaller surprises dotted around throughout the day.

What are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?

That first look as we see each other at the church as Steph’s walking down the aisle. We’re most excited to be able to share and celebrate the day with all of our loved ones.

Any future advice for Brides/Grooms planning their day?

We had a wedding website for our invites. We found that we were able to communicate much more information to our guests this way rather than a traditional invitation. We also found it handy to have a wedding email address.

Kind words and/or why you chose us to capture your day:

We’d read wonderful reviews and loved the photos we’d seen on Facebook. Sharon’s energy was infectious, and we were instantly put at ease during our initial meeting and the following engagement shoot.
