Weddings at Tapton Hall in Sheffield are some of my favourites. I've photographed here a lot over the past couple of years, it's always such a great venue and I love being one of their preferred wedding photographers. The staff are so very lovely, the food is amazing and I just adore this unique and historic venue with its perfect central location in Sheffield.
Tom and Finola, who currently live in North Yorkshire, both studied in Sheffield and with Tom being a Sheffield lad it seemed the perfect place for them to get married. Finola and Tom started their preparations at the Rultand Hotel in Sheffield. Finola’s morning was filled with plenty of laughter and girly fun. Tom’s, on the other hand, was very laid back with the boys watching typical lad films (think Die Hard) and drinking beer.
At mid day they made their way to Tapton Hall in the beautiful suburb of Ranmoor in Sheffield. The wedding ceremony was one of the most heartfelt ceremonies I have ever witnessed. Beautiful and emotional readings were read and I have never seen a couple so truly happy and in the moment at the prospect of getting married. The civil ceremony was followed by lots of fun, laughter and plenty of celebrating.
The celebrations and entertainment went on well into the night. Finola had a fabulous time boogying on the dancefloor, they had a caricaturist drawing funny cartoons of their guests and an indoor mini golf which was my favourite. I had to have ago myself and whip my husband Mike’s arse a round!
My favorite touch of Finola and Tom’s wedding , however, was the wedding cake. I will admit it made me cry. Finola and Tom had used all their engagement photos I had taken to decorate it! I can’t say how humble and proud I felt at the moment I saw it.
A special mention must also go to my friend Lucy at The Dandelion Clock who made the most incredibly beautiful and stunning bridal bouquet ever! Never have I seen a bouquet in the shape of a heart. A little nod to the fact that they became Mr and Mrs Hart.
I enjoyed photographing their wedding so much and, I got the added bonus of working again with one of my favourite videographers, Georgia of Georgia Dunstone films.
