OMG! The most perfect day for Dominique and Michael's wedding at Chilli Barn, West Yorkshire this summer. The sun shone, it was lovely and warm, lots of games, fabulous music, food trucks, cupcakes, yorkshire pudding wraps, their dogs came and there was hilarious story telling on the hay bales instead of speeches. All making for an amazing and fun wedding day that no one will forget!
What’s your love story, how did you meet?
We met at the ‘Haxey Hood’. My bridesmaid Kelly invited me and Kelly's family friends invited Michael.
Kelly's mum was hosting breakfast at her house and their friends asked if Michael, his dad and brother could join us.
The first time we met, I was in Kelly's mums kitchen filling a walking rucksack with vodka and orange so I didn’t have to pay for any drinks!
How did Michael proposal?
We had just got the keys to our first house. My sister asked if she could have a photo with me outside the house and as I turned around Michael was on one knee with flowers and a sign saying ‘Will you marry me’.
Why did you choose your Chilli Barn?
I wanted a small intimate venue. I didn’t like the idea of been restricted to the suppliers I used and my venue allowed me to have free reign. I loved the barn feel and the outside space.
What’s the vibe of your wedding?
Informal and relaxed. I just want everyone to have fun and enjoy themselves.
Is there anything special at your wedding that you’ve included and why?
I am having my 3 dogs , Nellie, Ernie and Gladys, walk down the aisle to ‘You’ve got a friend in me’ from Toy Story.
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
I am most looking forward to walking down the aisle and seeing Michael.
Any future advice for Brides/Grooms planning their day?
Don’t stress.
If something goes wrong then it is likely none of your guests will know how it was meant to be anyway.
Why you chose us to capture your day?
You just looked really fun and lovely. I wanted someone who would make everyone feel relaxed and have a laugh – which you definitely do!
