I met Charlotte and Scott 2 years ago whilst capturing their engagement photos in Sheffield Botanical gardens. Scott had proposed recently at the side of Lake Windemere and we chatted excitedly about their upcoming wedding day the following spring. But, then totally unexpected, a global pandemic happened and in total they had to reschedule their wedding day 4 times!
On a beautiful July morning bridal prep started at a fabulous cottage in the grounds of Cressbrook Hall. We had fun and giggles getting ready and used the fantastic views of the Derbyshire countryside outside the cottage for bride and bridesmaid photos. I loved the lemon yellow dresses that Charlotte chose for her bridesmaids which were prefect for a summer wedding .
Charlotte and Scott chose to have the wedding ceremony out in the garden at Cressbrook Hall as the views/backdrop of the hall are stunning! They only just got their vows said and, signed the register in time, before the heavens opened with a brief but heavy summer rain shower. The old wives tale is that its lucky for it to rain on your wedding day. If that’s the case, they got lots of luck! It did make for a fabulous and unique photo opportunity though!
We all had an amazing day with it concluding in a very romantic and emotional outside first dance in the gardens.
Well, Charlotte and Scott, your wedding day was most definitely worth waiting for.
