There’s something extra special about photographing a wedding for someone you’ve known for years — and Alex and Callum’s spring wedding in Sheffield was exactly that. So when Alex asked me to be her wedding photographer, the answer was an instant “YES. YES. YES.” No hesitation needed.
Their day was everything you want a wedding to be — full of love, laughter, happy tears and those little moments you don’t forget. Surrounded by their closest friends, their gorgeous family and their adorable baby son, Alex and Callum’s wedding felt warm, meaningful and completely them from start to finish.
A Classic Sheffield Church Wedding
The day kicked off with a beautiful, traditional ceremony at St James Church, Norton — a stunning local church that means a lot to Alex and Callum. With spring sunshine streaming through the windows and smiles all around, they exchanged vows in front of their favourite people… including their little boy, who made the moment even more special.
As a Sheffield wedding photographer, these are the moments I love most — real emotion, meaningful settings and couples who are completely present in the moment.
Rustic Spring Vibes at Mosborough Hall Hotel
After the ceremony, everyone headed to the gorgeous Mosborough Hall Hotel for the celebrations — one of South Yorkshire’s most loved wedding venues, and it’s easy to see why. With its history, cosy interiors and beautiful gardens, it was the perfect backdrop for Alex and Callum’s rustic spring wedding.
Fun fact: they actually won their wedding venue during lockdown in a giveaway through Bespoke Weddings. Once they visited Mosborough Hall, they completely fell in love and started planning the day they’d always imagined.
The venue looked amazing — filled with bright spring flowers, rustic details and personal touches everywhere you looked. Callum’s love of Sheffield Wednesday even made an appearance with themed cupcakes, alongside tennis-inspired treats for Alex. Those little nods to who they are made the day feel so personal and fun.
From Waitrose to “I Do”
Every great love story starts somewhere… and Alex and Callum’s began over a shopping trolley in Waitrose. From cheeky kisses behind delivery vans to their first proper date in Longshaw, it was clear early on that these two were meant to be.
The proposal? Just as lovely. A rainy weekend away at Clumber Park, rose petals, candles and a surprise moment that ended with Alex saying yes before Callum could even finish what he was saying.
Honestly — adorable.
Favourite Moments & A Little Wedding Advice
When asked what they were most excited about, the answer was simple: all of it. From getting ready with their bridal party, to emotional speeches, and dancing the night away at Mosborough Hall — they soaked up every moment.
They also included a beautiful memory table to honour loved ones who couldn’t be there, which was incredibly touching and added so much meaning to the day.
Their advice for future couples?
“Book your suppliers early if you want the best!”
