How It All Began – Childhood Sweethearts
Sophie and Kit first crossed paths at just five years old when they both joined the same running club. Life took them on different journeys through school, but fate had other plans. By sixth form, their friendship blossomed into something more – and that spark has carried them through ever since.
A Proposal by the Sea
Every October, Sophie and Kit escape to Stonehaven, a charming town on the northeast coast of Scotland. For them, it’s a sanctuary – a place to recharge and make memories together.
In October 2023, on a windswept beach after battling heavy traffic and a wild storm, Kit asked Sophie to look out at the rocks for seals. When she turned back around, there he was on one knee, holding a ring and asking her to marry him. Their spaniel puppy, Sidney, bounded over just in time to give his approval with a sniff at the ring. Afterwards, they celebrated in their favourite harbour pub, calling loved ones and dreaming about the future.
Personal Touches on Their Wedding Day
Though Sidney wasn’t able to attend the wedding (he has far too much energy for a full day of celebrations!), Sophie and Kit made sure he was part of it. They dressed him up in a bow tie for Polaroids and named each reception table after one of his favourite places. It was the sweetest tribute and a beautiful way to include their beloved spaniel in the day.
