Laura & Matthew’s Romantic Autumn Wedding at The Maynard, Peak District


Laura and Matthew’s beautiful autumn wedding at The Maynard in the Peak District was filled with romance, personal touches and plenty of fun. As wedding photographers, we loved capturing their relaxed celebration, surrounded by the stunning Derbyshire countryside.


A Love Story and a Personal Proposal


Laura and Matthew first crossed paths three times through a mutual friend before finally speaking at a New Year’s Eve party. The rest, as they say, is history!


Matthew’s proposal was just as personal. After cooking Laura a lovely steak dinner at home, he returned with an engagement ring and nervously got down on one knee.


A Romantic Peak District Wedding


Having visited The Maynard several times for its fantastic food, wonderful staff and beautiful location, Laura and Matthew knew it was the perfect venue for their wedding. Their shared love of the Peak District, including nearby Padley Gorge, made the setting even more special.


One of the most meaningful moments was having Matthew’s mum conduct their wedding ceremony, adding a lovely personal touch to their day.


Music also played a big part in the celebrations. Pianist Ben Choy performed a mixture of classical and contemporary music during the drinks reception, while Laura and Matthew surprised their guests with a choreographed first dance to Hungry Eyes from  Dirty Dancing!

Laura and Matthew loved our natural, fun approach to wedding photography. When they met us and Mike, they immediately felt comfortable and knew they were in good hands.
