From the moment I met Lizzie and Paul for their adventurous engagement shoot at Padley Gorge in the Peak District, I just knew their wedding was going to be something special. These two share a huge love for travel, the great outdoors and doing life their own way — so a relaxed, joy-filled, festival-style wedding in the Yorkshire countryside felt like the only option.
And wow… they absolutely delivered.

A Village Church Wedding Full of Laughter & Love
The celebrations kicked off in the beautiful village of South Cave, East Yorkshire, with bridal prep at the lovely South Cave Hotel. The bridal suite was bursting with excitement — champagne flowing, music blasting and plenty of giggles all round.
One of my favourite moments? Lizzie and her bridesmaids belting out “Going to the Chapel” at full volume as they jumped into a vintage campervan and headed off to the church. Pure wedding-day joy!
The ceremony took place in a stunning country church and was made even more special by the vicar, a lifelong family friend who travelled all the way from the south to officiate. His heartfelt (and hilariously funny) stories had everyone laughing, creating such a warm, personal atmosphere and setting the tone for the rest of the day perfectly.
A Festival Themed Farm Wedding in the East Yorkshire Countryside
After the ceremony, guests made their way to Paul’s parents’ farm, tucked away in the rolling hills of the East Yorkshire countryside — and honestly, what a dream location.
With sweeping rural views and wide open skies, the garden was transformed into the ultimate festival-style wedding venue. A huge marquee, colourful bunting, fairy lights and thoughtful DIY details created a relaxed, joyful vibe that felt completely them.
Inspired by their love of travel, Lizzie and Paul filled the space with handmade signage, personal touches and creative décor, proof that the best weddings are always the ones that truly reflect the couple.
Handmade Wedding Details & Incredible Family Baking
One of the most heartwarming parts of the day was the cake, lovingly baked by Lizzie’s dad and beautifully decorated by one of her bridesmaids. But he didn’t stop there… Lizzie’s dad also created an entire dessert table that was nothing short of legendary!
For the main meal, the brilliant Nab’s Nosh served up delicious starters and mains, keeping everyone well-fed and happy as the celebrations rolled on.
Live Music, Surprise Singing & Legendary Jägerbombs
As the sun dipped behind the hills, the wedding truly turned into a festival. Live music filled the marquee, fairy lights twinkled overhead and the dance floor stayed packed all night long.
One unforgettable moment? Lizzie surprising Paul by singing a song she’d written just for him, cue happy tears all round!
And once the Jägerbombs appeared… well, let’s just say things escalated quickly. I’ve never seen so many in one place, even Gran got involved!
