Tara and Jordan first met through mutual friends while Tara was studying at Derby University. Jordan would often visit his friends there, and let’s just say—it wasn’t love at first sight. Thanks to some early misunderstandings, the two weren’t exactly warm to each other initially.
But as their friend groups often hung out together, Tara and Jordan found themselves spending more time with one another. Slowly, they discovered a shared sense of humour and formed a genuine friendship. After both dated other people, Jordan eventually asked Tara to spend a day at the zoo—just the two of them. That day changed everything.

The Proposal: Sunset Surprise in Cape Verde
Jordan planned a romantic beach proposal during a holiday in Cape Verde, a much-needed getaway after a tough year. Joined by friends who were in on the secret, he hid the engagement ring in the hotel safe (undetected by Tara!) and even practiced the proposal—knee and all—without her suspecting a thing.
The moment came when a friend suggested they head to the beach dressed up for some “Instagram-worthy sunset photos.” Tara thought nothing of it. As Jordan dropped to one knee, she was stunned—and touched.
“The whole proposal was filmed—including the part where I asked, ‘Are you sure you want to marry me?’ before the happy tears and celebrations began!”

“Have each other’s backs—it can feel isolating at times. We created ‘Wedding Weekends’ about a year before the big day. During these, we tackled wedding tasks together, from visiting wedding fayres to buying decor. Then we’d make a date of it and grab some food after. It helped break up the stress!”
