What’s your love story, how did you meet?
Paddy and I met at work! He worked in the same department as a couple of my friends and they told me that he liked me. We got chatting on a work night out, exchanged numbers and messaged for a bit. He asked me on a first date for drinks in Kelham Island and the rest is history!
How did you get engaged/proposal?
It was a complete shock to me! Not on my radar in the slightest and I like to think I’m quite a perceptive person. We went away for a couple of nights to a lodge in the countryside for my birthday and he popped the question there! He’d been designing the ring with a jeweller for months and it took me about 3 days for it to sink in after the shock!
Why did you choose your venue?
Really pretty venue, we liked it as soon as we saw the pictures online and this only strengthened when we attended an open day. We enquired about dates and got booked in there and then!
What’s the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?
Relaxed vibe – emerald green is the colour scheme for the bridal party and decorations. A slight rustic feel with chosen décor. We wanted to go for more of a party vibe/catch-up with friends, so are not doing some of the more ‘traditional’ aspects as it isn’t really us!
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
Seeing all of our loved ones in one place and celebrating the day/night together. Plus the pamper session with my bridesmaids in the morning!
Any future advice for Brides/Grooms planning their day?
Decide what the main focus is for your day and run with that – for us, it was about the people attending, rather than spending the money on a lavish venue, etc.
Kind words and/or why you chose us to capture your day:
I saw some of Sharon’s pictures online before I was even engaged (she’d photographed a girl I went to school with’s wedding) and I remember thinking she looked like a smiley, down-to-earth person. Posing for pictures is not mine and Paddy’s forte, so I wanted someone who could inject some fun into the experience for us. One of my bridesmaids then had Sharon photograph her wedding recently and this only cemented that it was the right choice for us.
