Last summer, I had the absolute joy of capturing Sadie and Jason’s romantic rustic wedding at The Maynard in Grindleford, nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park. Their wedding day was a perfect blend of heartfelt moments, beautiful scenery, and relaxed rustic charm—exactly the kind of celebration couples dream of.

How They Met: A Love Story 10 Years in the Making

Sadie and Jason first met at a local pub over ten years ago, but their story began even earlier—Jason was a long-time friend of Sadie’s brother. What started as a familiar connection turned into a lasting relationship, built on years of friendship, love, and shared memories.

The Perfect Proposal at Cusworth Hall

Jason proposed at Cusworth Hall, a special family-friendly location the couple visits often with their children. The proposal was simple, meaningful, and deeply personal—set in a place full of love and memories, just the way they envisioned it.

Why They Chose The Maynard, Grindleford

When planning their Peak District wedding, Sadie and Jason knew they wanted somewhere with natural beauty and outdoor space. The Maynard Hotel checked every box. With its stunning views, gorgeous garden space, and elegant yet relaxed atmosphere, it was the ideal venue for their rustic wedding theme.

Rustic Wedding Vibes & Laid-Back Elegance

The couple kept things simple, with rustic decor and a warm, welcoming vibe. The focus was on creating a day that felt personal and relaxed. From emotional vows to dancing under the stars, their celebration was filled with authentic moments and unforgettable joy.

Sadie shared, “I was most looking forward to finally being a wife—and dancing all night long!” And that’s exactly what they did!

Advice for Future Brides and Grooms

Planning a wedding can be overwhelming, but Sadie has some words of wisdom for couples just starting out:

“Keep calm and always do what feels best for you.”

Whether you're planning a big celebration or a small, intimate wedding, staying true to your vision is what makes the day truly yours.

Choosing the Right Wedding Photographer

It was such a pleasure to be chosen as Sadie and Jason’s wedding photographer. They mentioned feeling nervous about being in front of the camera, but after our engagement shoot, they felt totally at ease.

“Your bubbly personality helped us relax. We aren’t the best at photos, but you made it feel natural—and the photos turned out amazing.”

As a Peak District wedding photographer, I’m passionate about capturing real love stories in beautiful settings. Sadie and Jason’s day was filled with joy, laughter, and genuine connection—and I’m so honoured I got to be part of it.
