What’s your love story, how did you meet?
So we met through mutual friends, Tara was at Derby Uni and Jordan would regularly visit friends there. Initially we didn’t like one another because we had both heard bad things and so we were very cold towards each other. But our friends would all hang out and so we spent more and more time together and realised we had a very similar sense of humour so became friends. During this time we both dated other people and then when a time came round that we were both single Jordan asked if Tara would like to go to the zoo just the two of them. Having this time just the two of us made us realise there was a spark and now we don’t understand how we were friends for so long without seeing it!
How did you get engaged/proposal?
Jordan had planned to do it in Cape Verde, it was an important holiday as we had had a difficult year and this was a celebratory holiday. Our friends were also there and were involved in the plan. Apparently Tara is blind as well as oblivious as the ring was in the safe and she never spotted it and they would be googling “what knee to go down on” and practising and she had no idea! Jordan even kept singing “going to the chapel and we’re, gonna get married” and Tara didn’t clock on!
Our friend suggested we get dressed up and go to the beach for sunset pictures (he loved his Instagram and could be vain so Tara thought nothing of it!). We have the whole thing filmed including the part where as Jordan proposed Tara said “Are you sure you want to marry me” followed by a lot of tears and cheering!
Why did you choose Mosborough Hall?
We love a good party and so for us our main things were having a hotel big enough for all of our friends and family to get a room (saves anyone from having to be the dreaded designated driver) and then as soon as we spotted the disco ball we were sold!
We do also love how intimate the ceremony room is, it feels like a rustic vibe for the actual ceremony but then full blown party for the evening
What’s the style/theme/vibe of your wedding?
Fun loving and food! We don’t want anyone to feel awkward or uncomfortable, we hope there’ll be lots of dancing in the evening!
Is there anything special at your wedding that you’ve included and why?
Crisp wall- this was one of Jordans main contributions to the wedding planning. We have more than double the bags of crisps to guests actually coming!
What are you most looking forward to about your wedding day?
Having our closest friends and family celebrating with us, we’re so lucky to have these people in our lives.
Any future advice for Brides/Grooms planning their day?
It can definitely feel isolating so make sure you are there for one another! About a year before our wedding we started having “Wedding weekends” so any wedding jobs were dedicated to this one weekend so it didn’t feel as overwhelming, this could be anything from wedding fayres or buying goods. Turn it into a date day and go out for food to break it up!
Kind words and/or why you chose us to capture your day:
We met Sharon and Mike at a wedding fayre and we instantly knew we wanted them to capture our day! Not only was the portfolios stunning, we could tell just from talking to them how passionate they were about their career and just how lovely they were to be around! I imagine it’ll be a stressful morning/day and we’ll be spending lots of time together so we definitely wanted people that we wanted to be around! Thanks again for agreeing to capture our day!
